ABOUT JAMIE PARKER
Jamie Parker is a dad, former public-school teacher, small-business owner, and Realtor running for the Georgia House of Representatives in District 106.
A Georgia State graduate with a Masters and specialist from the University of Georgia, Jamie built his life and career here in Georgia. He grew up in East Cobb/Marietta and has long called Gwinnett County home.
Jamie taught in Gwinnett and DeKalb public schools for roughly 17 years. In the classroom he saw the best of our kids and teachers — and also the frustration families feel when bureaucracy gets in the way of common sense. That experience shaped his approach to teaching: focus on outcomes, cut waste, and get resources where they actually help students learn.
While teaching, Jamie earned his real-estate license and steadily built a client-first business. What began with one closing in 2007 grew into a full-time career helping Georgia families buy their first home or invest for the future. He’s been invited to speak at industry meetings and has even appeared on national real-estate programming, including HGTV’s House Hunters. Jamie later purchased a neighborhood music store in March 2020 and, like many small businesses during COVID, fought through shutdowns and supply challenges. He also publishes a monthly, hyper-local community magazine that lands in mailboxes across Georgia House District 106, spotlighting local nonprofits, small businesses, and neighbors doing good
Life hasn’t always been easy. In a short span, Jamie lost his father to COVID and faced personal hardship that could have knocked anyone off course. He chose to rise, leaning on faith, counseling, and service, and even authored a short 21-day devotional on perseverance. That season deepened his gratitude and his commitment to being present for his two school-aged kids and for this community.
Jamie is running to bring common-sense results over rhetoric to Georgia House District 106. Families here are squeezed by the cost of food, fuel, homes and utilities; traffic clogs key corridors; and parents want excellent schools that prepare kids to read, write, and be ready for great jobs. Jamie will work to lower costs, ease congestion, support students and great teachers, keep our neighborhoods and schools safe, and ensure government is accountable in helping families create better opportunities.
When he’s not working or at a school event with his kids, you’ll find Jamie playing the occasional local gig playing the saxophone, mentoring new agents, or meeting with neighborhood leaders. He’s not interested in performative politics. He’s interested in getting things done for the people who call Gwinnett County home.
Jamie Parker. Results over rhetoric.
